Project Throwback: Cimcorp Mezzanine Installation

Project Throwback: Cimcorp Mezzanine Installation

Every so often, a project comes along that shows exactly how much can be achieved by making better use of the space already available inside a building.

For this project throwback, we’re looking back at our mezzanine office fit out for Cimcorp in Leicestershire. The completed project combined a raised mezzanine structure with a practical office environment, giving the team a dedicated workspace within their existing warehouse setting.

Making Better Use of Warehouse Height

One of the main advantages of a mezzanine floor is its ability to unlock vertical space. In many industrial and warehouse environments, there is useful height above the working floor that can be turned into additional operational, storage or office space.

For Cimcorp, the project focused on creating a professional office area within the warehouse environment, without the need to move premises or build a separate extension. The result was a self-contained workspace positioned within the existing building footprint.

The drawings highlight the planning stage behind the installation, including the mezzanine steelwork layout, partitioning and furniture layout, and elevation details.

From Structure to Finished Workspace

This was not just a platform installation. The mezzanine needed to be developed into a usable working environment, which meant considering the structure, access, fire protection, internal layout, and final finishes together.

This is where our parent company, Advanced Commercial Interiors, came in.

The finished space included:

Practical Details That Make the Difference

A successful mezzanine office needs to feel like a proper workplace, not simply a room placed inside a warehouse.

For Cimcorp, the interior was finished with a clean monochrome furniture scheme, black ceiling grid, integrated lighting and practical workstations. The furniture finishes were kept monochromatic at the client’s request, with write-on vinyl installed across the back wall and branded graphics used within the space.

The flooring was also selected with the working environment in mind. Rather than using a standard office carpet finish, the project used a more durable flooring approach suited to the surrounding operational setting. Rubber flooring was chosen for improved longevity compared with standard carpet in this environment.

A Branded Mezzanine Office Within the Warehouse

One of the standout visual features of the project was the exterior treatment of the mezzanine office. The completed structure included large Cimcorp branding, bold green and yellow graphics, black trims and a staircase with yellow nosings.

This helped the office installation feel fully integrated with Cimcorp’s wider brand and working environment. From the warehouse floor, the finished mezzanine has a strong visual presence while still serving a practical day-to-day purpose.

A Look Back at the Finished Results

This project is a strong example of how a mezzanine floor can do more than add extra square footage. With the right design and fit out, it can create a complete working environment inside an existing industrial space.

For Cimcorp, the project delivered a smart, functional and branded office area while keeping the surrounding warehouse space available for operational use.

As a project throwback, it is a great reminder of the value of combining mezzanine floor design, structural planning and office fit out into one coordinated package.
